Individual questioning of jurors and motions in limine proceeded at a steady pace. Jury selection took only a day and a half.
The first day of the Mario Alexander jury trial for alleged molestation of two female minors started late but opening statements were made, Jane Doe #1 testified and her mother testified.
Friday, the second day of jury trial was different. Court started half an hour later, again. Deputy District Attorney Stacey Eads objected to a question Mr. Russ Clanton asked Jane Doe #2 during cross examination. That led to attorneys meeting with Judge Christopher Wilson. Jurors were dismissed early at 3 p.m. on Friday. Judge Christopher Wilson assured the jury that the trial was proceeding on schedule and there were issues that needed to be discussed outside their presence. Jurors were instructed to return at 9:30 on Monday.
My previous coverage of the case includes a lot of the information and testimony being covered during the jury trial.
