Attempted murder suspect who allegedly used a chainsaw on the lam




Today, at approximately 3:00pm, officers responded to the 7700 block of Milton Ave. in the City of Whittier regarding an attempted murder stemming from a domestic violence incident. When officers arrived they found a female adult suffering from traumatic physical injuries, believed to have been inflicted by a chainsaw.  The victim was transported to a local trauma center and her current condition is unknown.


Detectives have identified the suspect as 32-year-old Alejandro Alvarez of Whittier.  Alvarez is described as a male Hispanic, 5’ 3”, 130lbs with black hair and brown eyes. He was last seen wearing a brown “Hurley” t-shirt and dark jeans. He is believed to be driving a stolen 2004 Mercury Mountaineer, SUV, 4-door, blue/tan in color with California license plate number 8ABD233.

Though the chainsaw has been recovered, Alvarez is to be considered armed and dangerous.
