Jose Medina Ayala was traveling from Los Angeles to Nashville.He was taken into custody after he allowed law enforcement to search his bags. They did so based on a tip.

While searching Ayala's bags, police and DEA agents found 51 vacuum sealed bags of marijuana. Each bag weighed more than one pound. Total amount of marijuana was under 60 pounds. Ayala had $2,870 in cash on him.
Ayala claimed he did not know there was marijuana in the luggage. His bail was set at $100,000.
