The 9th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals rules "the Second Amendment does protect a right to carry a firearm in public for self-defense."

The 9th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals ruled that the Constitution's Second Amendment grants people the right to openly carry a gun in public for self-defense.

The ruling was issued by a three-judge panel on the court and came about a year after the Supreme Court decided not to rule on the case.

  1. I for one am surprised at this firearm related decision by the 9th Circuit Court of Appeals, as compared to their other previous far left decisions!

Luckily those of us residing in Humboldt County, and many of the other Counties of Northern California are allowed to apply for and receive a "State of California License To Carry A Concealed Firearm". Even with my being a tall and large sized Veteran of the US Marine Corps, I do use my CCW License by carrying a concealed weapon when going to town in such places as Old Town Eureka, Arcata, and the remote areas of the County/ State - even if it tends to ruffle the feathers of the feel good anti-gun for 'our own safety' folks...

Face it folks, as shown here on this blog and occasionally in the mainstream news, there are lots of 'evil' folks out there in the population, and I refuse to be a victim due to others believing in human kindness/ or living in denial of how some people have criminal intent on their minds.

  2. Gave up my CCW for a big can of bear spray not only for the needless yearly renewal and requalifying but who whats all the hassle of wounding or killing someone. Now if I fill the need for fire power I can just strap on the handgun. Thanks 9th court thats two in a row, when you actually fallow the Constitution you'll get it right everytime!
