"Still work to be done, but a good start."

Today, there is a clean up effort organized by the City of Eureka. City Councilmember Marian Brady came to Third and I because she has received complaints by business owners in the area, including Central Office.

"Going to clean weeds from I St. gutter between 3rd and 4TH. Started @ 11:20."

"And Matt Thompson from Harbor Operations came to the rescue to help with loading and cleanup! Yay Harbor Matt."

"Still work to be done,  but a good start. Property owners are responsible for their gutters and many people don't know that. Woot woot."

Councilmember Brady is finished with the clean up now. She wants to clarify that the above comment is information not criticism.

  1. START NOTIFYING THE APPROPRIATE BUSINESS OWNERS WITH THIS GROWTH OR NEED FOR REPAIR. ITS NICE MARIAN DID THIS, BUT FOLLOW PROCEDURE AND PLACE THE RESPONSIBILITY ON THE OWNERS FIRST.
NOW FOLLOWUP AND SPRAY ROUNDUP AND KILL THOSE WEEDS!!!!!!!

    1. Good point Camelg1. Even though the City should be doing a better job maintaining their own properties and public spaces, some property owners take pride; others are too cheap to pay someone a few bucks an hour a week/month to keep the area clean. Then again, we live in a County where there are several cheapskates with a lot of money who tip a few coins on several dollars purchase or meal while being the most demanding customers. Money does not equal class.
