Three civilian witnesses and Eureka Police Detective Tim Marsolan are testifying for the People at the two day preliminary hearing for Jason Miller aka"Crow" who is charged charged with the murder of Kiera Lynn Foley and a special allegation that he "personally and intentionally discharged a firearm, a handgun, which caused great bodily injury and death" to Foley.

This is not even the trial and as Crystal Gonzales the first witness was testifying on direct, I already had questions about who killed Foley and if he had an accomplice. By the time, Gonzales was cross examined by defense, I was no longer wondering.

Rose Cooper, who has a criminal history, and dated Miller briefly was the second witness and Phyllicia Korn,the third witness also has a local criminal arrest record.

There were numerous issues with every single civilian witness about what they didn't tell the police, did tell the police, told others, what they claimed Miller told them and testimony being different in court.

Laguna Inn ,Days Inn, Royal Inn, drugs, prostitution including Foley's street life, drug use, prostitution and her disappearing for days was revealed in today's hearing. Foley was originally from Southern Humboldt but also lived in Eureka.

Gonzales admitted she was a drug addict, took methadone today before testifying, admitted to being bipolar and having other psychiatric disorders. She had been hospitalized at St. Joe's on a 5150 hold. Gonzales is a True Crime fan and her testimony felt like an episode except she was incoherent, mumbled and was nodding off while on the stand. Gonzales denied it in court but several people, including Cooper claimed Gonzalez was in love with Miller.

Gonzales' testimony was lengthy and the cross examination by Ms. Andrea Sullivan decimated her credibility and exposed so many issues with the tale she spun on the stand. The performance was annoying and way over the top. Cooper knew Foley; Gonzales did not and the constant sobbing which she turned on and off was unbelievable.

Cooper testified she was a heroin addict and a prostitute before she met Miller. Cooper said Miller was never violent and treated her well and got her off the streets and stopped her from engaging in prostitution.

Cooper testified that there are many stories about how Foley was killed. Cooper said there were "6 or 7" versions on the street.

Korn said Miller was her drug dealer and she lived at Laguna Inn.

Gonzales said she saw Miller drown Bubbles in the toilet and she saw a woman's body in a tub but could not identify the woman. Cooper said Miller told her that he had shot "Kiera" and that "Kiera" was gping to rat him out to the "cops."

There was graphic and detailed testimony about mental torture to Foley, her body being cut up. When Gonsalez started testifying details about Bubbles and Foley, three women got up and left the room; only one returned.

The tragedy of Foley's death and drowning of Bubbles is made even worse because this preliminary hearing highlights how drugs, poverty and mental illness in Humboldt affect and destroy so many lives.

Gonzales and Cooper would not use Foley's name and only referred to "her."
