Karen Paz Dominguez is speaking live at the front of the courthouse at 1230.
I am posting live. This post has some of my observations. I may add more from Ms. Paz Dominguez speech later.

Equitable balance of power,checks and balances, social contract with public, power shift in the last 20 years to the Board.
Ms. Paz Dominguez said she cannot certify a report under penalty of perjury. This is the one State Controller requested and the State Attorney General followed up on. She is still planming to submit it tomorrow.
"The public wont care that the public illegally taxed cannabis growers" said Ms. Paz Dominguez because they are too distracted by the Auditor's Controller brouhaha,
First District Supervisor Rex Bohn is out as usual and so is Second District Supervisor Michelle Bushnell. Assessor staffer Howard LaHaie ( whose daughter Caitlyn Lahaie works for Victim Witness and her mother and is former DHHS assistant Barbara Lahaie) and they are all standing on the steps. Howard LaHaie currently running unopposed. Howard LaHaie is best buds with Ben Hershberger who is running for Clerk Recorder/Registrar of Voters and works for the County.
Rex has more time to hang out to every candidacy announcement on the courthouse steps. Michelle Bushnell is out watching Ms. Paz Dominguez or chatting up with DA staff and hanging out a lot more outside the courthouse lately and oten with Rex. CAO's office and staff was standing listening to the announcement. They gave up their lunch hour to attend Ms. Paz Dominguez's announcement? Does your attendance mean an endorsement from you Rex as we found out with other candidates?
Why are Rex and Michelle Bushnell hanging out with DA staff so much lately?
On Facebook, online, anonymous or not, you see the same names attacking Ms. Paz Dominguez. The rest of the media does not know in most cases and in others are choosing to ignore and not tell you.
Many of the same vocal government or private people attacking Ms. Paz Dominguez have a motive and an agenda. The attack is political and many of these people want in with the Humboldt connected and want the benefits of the status quo that has kept most of Humbdt from moving up. Don't be fooled and as Ms. Paz Dominguez said, engage and educate.
I have pointed out the connections. If you don't have an open mind, if you just want to stay silent, no one owes you anything. Most people in Humboldt live in constant fear and expect two or three people to constantly speak up and suffer smears, political attacks and financial consequences.
At one of the candidate announcements, someone asked Rex why he was there. He said, "I wanted to see who was using my courthouse steps. Rex, the steps are not yours, the Courthouse is not yours and your salary is paid by the public."
I challenge Rex, Virginia Michelle Bushnell and the rest of the Humboldt Supervisors to stand outside and say with a straight face that every constituent has the same level of access and prompt response to them that the McBeths, Pastoris, Petrushas, Russ family, Mercer Fraser and others have. Those are only some of the names.
Ms. Paz Dominguez isnt mincing words. We don't need her to tell us that transparency in Humboldt is is a joke and about this is the way it is done in Humboldt works.
22-194 PRA is a request by Thomas Edrington about what Karen Paz Dominguez has provided to the BOS. The request is unpublished but Edrington has asked that the public be able to view it. Why hasn't the CAO not granted that request?
If the County has nothing to hide, we need to see this PRA for ourselves. Ms. Paz Dominguez has repeatedly said she will provide proof so we make the PRA directly available to the public.
"Cash has been moved through agency without a record," said Ms. Paz Dominguez.
Ms. Paz Dominguez said consultants gained unauthorized access . She explains information isnt there or reports are given late and vendors are paid late.
Ms. Dominguez said discrepancies, theft, invoices were given to her 6 months late. She received something today.
"You work hard to take care of your family as I do mine," said Ms. Paz Dominguez. She said voters deserved transparency.
PARS account has millions but not used to pay unfunded pension. Patrick Cloney likes to talk about pension. So ask the BOS about that Patrick. Your family is well connected and get public answers.
"My intention is to bring power to the people," said Ms. Paz Dominguez. Transparency, electronic information about the Auditor Controller.
"I have continued to work despite the childish aggression of board members" and anonymous smears by staff.
Anonymous smears and anonymous cowards is how intimidation is done in Humboldt when truth that is inconvenient comes out. I and others know that from personal experience.
She announced her candidacy with people clapping.
AC apologized to cannabis growers. "I was told to issue you checks and EFT" before the federal banks would accept the money and infrastructure was in place.
Ms. Paz Dominguez said cannabis funds were recorded in lump sum with other dollars.For years since Estelle was in office, I and others have asked about cannabis funds. Instead of hanging outside the Courthouse, how about the CAO and BOS get the public that information.
Hank Sims kept asking Ms. Paz Dominguez the same question she had answered three times already. Ms. Paz Dominguez said in her speech she is submitting the report to the State but elaborated that why she wasnt comfortable certifying.
Hank reminded me of a lawyer, asking the same question repeatedly hoping to get the answer that suits his spin.
LOCO has nothing up. Why? At 4:56 p.m. Isabella Vanderheiden's byline is there with question and quote Hank asked? Of course, it has the same bs we have heard from Elishia Hayes and Rex. I knew once the County gave the spin to LOCO, something would be up. And it was!
Some of us posted live because we don't need the same shit spoonfed to us by a Supervisor and County department heads who need to release the PRA Edrington has asked the puic to view that has proof.
Don't accuse the Auditor of not providing proof when your PRA process and transparency sucks.
There are several of us waiting to ask her questions including RHHB, KAEF and Redwood News.
I was here as other the tv stations, Hank and Ryan Hutson interviewed her and lets see what gets reported and what gets left out. They are a part of a large media company and they are begging for people to buy coffee cups.
So to you two, three LOCO anon groupies and others waxing on about LOCO, you can continue to ignore that LOCO seems to have more of the pro BOS stance recently. Thad and Hank seem to be more pro the BOS stance. Why? Just like Matt Owen, Hank and LOCO are sure chummy with Rex these days. Crickets from the left, the right and groups like the Humboldt Freedom Coalition.
