Timothy Ziegler had a motion to consolidate two cases and trial assignment scheduled on March 18.
Ziegler has been arrested for assault and criminal threats. I started covering his case when DA investigators cuffed him outside court. Since then all there is to report is a continuance or new lawyer.
Jury trial scheduled for March 21 was vacated. On 4/14 there is confirmation of counsel/disclose confidential information is scheduled for 4/14, trial confirmation is on 5/10 and jury trial is scheduled for 6/13.
Ziegler can't keep a lawyer. He was previously represented by the Public Defender. Then he hired a lawyer out of town. Deputy Public Defender Ben McLaughlin called him a "problematic client."
Ziegler has 30 days to find a new attorney or keep his current attorney.
4/14: Dates remain set and the 2019 and 2021 cases are consolidated. Whitworth remains as counsel. His name is misspelled in the second page of court minutes. Defense motion to continue denied.
5/10: Jury trial for 6/13 confirmed.
