Murder suspect Ryan Tanner had a hearing on March 15 for a ruling by Judge Kaleb Cockrum. He has another hearing today scheduled with the trial assignment calendar.
Will the jury trial scheduled for March 21 be a go? Yes but the charges will be different. The District Attorney has filed a second amended motion. Judge Cockrum will preside over the trial.
Judge Cockrum ruled on the 995 motion and denied as to murder and kidnapping charges; granted as to arson of inhabited structure.
Deputy District Attorney Whitney Timm is the prosecutor. Mr. Russ Clanton is Tanner's attorney.
