Humboldt County Auditor Controller Karen Paz Dominguez has filed to run for reelection

 

Humboldt County Auditor Controller Karen Paz Dominguez has filed to run for reelection. I just confirmed with the Humboldt Elections Office.

I contacted Ms. Paz Dominguez for a response which is posted below. 

"Thank you for providing me the opportunity to respond. It is an honor and a privilege to serve as the watchdog of public funds for the people of Humboldt County and I am committed to continuing the good work of the A-C Office should the public re-elect me," said Ms. Paz Dominguez.

"We have overcome unprecedented challenges as a team/department and it has only made us stronger, more resilient, and determined to keep improving. I am looking forward to leading the A-C team through another term and helping us recover from the setbacks of the pandemic as well as catching up on its resulting backlog of work by implementing modernized processes and efficiencies to reduce costs to taxpayers. As it was in 2018, my platform is one of transparency, accountability, and integrity."

As of this morning, the only other candidate running for this position, is Mychal Evenson.

3/11: It didn't surprise me that Evenson dropped out when Cheryl Dillingham announced her candidacy.
