Arraignment was scheduled for Markis Shirley on January 13 for one charge of felon in possession of a firearm. That arraignment was continued to this afternoon. Shirley is on no bond status.
In addition to this arraignment, Shirley has two other cases on calendar.
Afternoon update: Shirley refused to come to court again today. Judge Timothy Canning continued the matter to tomorrow afternoon saying Shirley is required to come to court.
Mr. Zachary Curtis appeared via Zoom. Looks like he will be appointed for Shirley.
As I explained in another post today, I am not sitting around waiting for hours on cases that keep getting continued. I will update information tomorrow or next week on the 1/15/hearing.
Shirley was most recently arrested on January 9. He has had multiple arrests and probation violations. I have been covering Shirley since 2015.
