KTVU reported on Feed Alameda, a new program that the Alameda Mayor is launching and came about from a video conference of U.S. Mayors.
As long as funds are available, the city will pay one local restaurant, "a week" , $25 per meal to prepare 90 hot meals for people who are homeless or domestic violence survivors.
It was unclear from the report video if that was once a week or more but the first restaurant owner spoke about the revenue for a day. Her staff of 44 is down to 10 due to COVID restrictions. She said her sales for one week totaled what she made on a Friday night.
Restaurants participate in a lottery sysyem.
