Judge Timothy Canning denied the demurrer for kidnapping and domestic violence suspect Chong Her this morning. Arraignment on the second amended complaint was completed.
Deputy District Attorney Candace Myers is the prosecutor for this case. Deputy Public Defender Wade Orbelian is Her's attorney.
Her had bailed out. Today, Judge Canning granted the People's request to remand Her into custody. He also granted the People's request to increase bail to 1 million, 185, 000.
OR/bail hearing is scheduled for January 27. The preliminary hearing is scheduled for February 3.
Her needs an interpreter. The alleged victim also needs a Hmong interpreter who is fluent in the Thai dialect.
1/27/21: Her is still in custody.
