The "Andrew Stunich" defense claimed by man arrested in D.C. for trying to enter security checkpoint with unauthorized ID, a gun and over 500 rounds of ammunition

U.S. Capitol Police arrested Wesley Allen Beeler, of Front Royal, Virginia after he presented an unauthorized Inaguration credentrial at a security checkpoint in D.C.

The court document describes what happened and the discovery of a gun, over 500 rounds of ammunition and shotgun shells found in Beeber's truck.

He was released on O.R. after a stay away order was served on him.

The Washington Post had a few more details.

"It was an honest mistake,” said Beeler in an interview. Beeber said he spent the last week working as hired security in downtown Washington and was running late to work and forgot that his firearm was in his truck.

" I pulled up to a checkpoint after getting lost in D.C. because I’m a country boy,” said Beeber. “I showed them the inauguration badge that was given to me.”

Beeler said he was given a credential by his employer, MVP Protective Services. A man who answered a phone number connected with MVP protective services said, “Unfortunately, at this time I am not authorized to speak."
