FBI has learned armed protests are being planned at all state capitols, government offices and courthouses

ABC News was the first to report about an internal FBI memo that starting January 16 through Inauguration Day, armed protests are being planned at all 50 state capitols and the U.S. Capitol. These may continue past Inauguration Day.

The FBI has also received information recently about a group calling for “storming” state, local and federal government courthouses and administrative buildings if Trump is removed from office prior to Inauguration Day.

The group is also planning to “storm” government offices in every state the day President-elect Joe Biden will be inaugurated.

After the January 6 riots at the U.S. Capitol, Federal law enforcement officials have advised police agencies to increase their security at statehouses around the country.

NBC News said the memo includes information provided by the ATF, DEA, Defense Department, Park Police, and the U.S. Marshals, among other agencies, according to the law enforcement official. Some of the information came from social media, some from open source, and some from other sources of information.

FBI statement:

"While our standard practice is to not comment on specific intelligence products, the FBI is supporting our state, local, and federal law enforcement partners with maintaining public safety in the communities we serve. Our efforts are focused on identifying, investigating, and disrupting individuals that are inciting violence and engaging in criminal activity.

"As we do in the normal course of business, we are gathering information to identify any potential threats and are sharing that information with our partners. The FBI respects the rights of individuals to peacefully exercise their First Amendment rights. Our focus is not on peaceful protesters, but on those threatening their safety and the safety of other citizens with violence and destruction of property."
