Two Capitol Police officers have been suspended and one law enforcement member has been arrested for their alleged involvement in the January 6 riots on Capitol Hill.
Representative Tim Ryan, chair of the House Appropriations subcommittee is handling the investigation into the police response to the Capitol attack last week and provided this information to media.
“I know that there were two people that were suspended,” Ryan said. “One was the selfie officer and another was an officer that put a MAGA hat on that started directing some people around."
Ryan said there are approximately 10 to 15 Capitol Police officers under investigation for their behavior during the riot. He did not have specific details about those investigations.
Ryan said "The Capitol Police are looking at everybody involved that potentially facilitated, on a big level or small level in any way, and it's important that they're cracking down on that."
