"The community has been good to our family, so we always strive to give back to the community."

If you have lived in Eureka or Humboldt for even a year, you are familiar with at least one member or more of the Warmuth family. Most of you will be more familiar with the family business, Leon's Car Care Center, located at 929 Broadway.

Leon's Mufflers & Brakes was founded by Leon and Elaine Warmuth in 1961. The business has been at three different locations prior to the current one but always on Broadway. In 1993, the next generation took over the family business. This year, Leon's will have been in business for 58 years.

The Warmuth family does not take their success for granted and they show their support by donating to various fundraisers and community organizations. They keep a clipboard of every thank you letter they have received as a reminder.

"The community has been good to our family, so we always strive to give back to the community," said Carrie Sams, Leon's business manager.

The Skate Park at Cooper Gulch, Humboldt Botanical Garden, Boys & Girls Club, Big Brothers/Big Sisters, Samoa Drag Strip, the Eureka fireworks display, Eureka Rotary, the
Madaket, Northern California Blood Bank and
Timber Heritage Museum are some of the beneficiaries of the Warmuth family's generosity.

  1. Thank you John.
Our family truly loves our community. You also help this happen, in the reporting you do, given the transparency
    it provides. Thank you
