After the preliminary hearing on for alleged molestor Patricio Pulido Segura, he was held to answer on 7 counts. Arraignment on information is on April 17.
Segura charges include forcible oral copulation, forcible rape, aggravated sexual assault of a child, forcible lewd act upon a child and continuous sexual abuse. The alleged victim is his stepdaughter.
Fortuna police officer Tim Dias and Detective Ryan Richardson testified. Officer Dias' testimony was brief. Detective Richardson, who is the lead investigator in the case testified for over an hour. Instead of playing the CAST interview which is two and ahalf hoyrs long, most of today's testimony was from Detective Richardson.
Segura's wife walked into her kitchen to find Segura sitting in a chair and Jane Doe was on her knees. "Jane Doe was giving her husband oral sex."
Segura's wife saw his penis. "She became irate and began yelling and screaming at him and hit him a few times." Other family members who lived in the apartment woke up, they made Segura leave the apartment and called the police.
Detective Richardson testified that Jane Doe was Segura's stepdaughter but Segura and his wife (who was referred to in court with a different last name) had four other children.
"They had been together for several years " said Detective Richardson. Last July, Segura's wife left him and went to Tehama County. He called her and she returned to Fortuna in August 2018.
Arraignment on information is April 17.
