Retired Riverside Superior Court Judge appointed to hear Jon Goldberg trial

Both of Jon Goldberg's cases are scheduled for trial confirmation on 1/24. Jury trial is scheduled for February 5.

A minute order was issued today appointing Visiting Judge Graham Cribbs to preside over the jury trial. Judge Cribbs retired from the Riverside Superior Court.

The 2016 case charges Goldberg with the murder of Tim Smith. The 2017 case charges Goldberg with assault and battery of his wife.

Previous court records and testimony revealed that Rachel Goldberg was having an affair with Tim Smith. Naked photos of Rachel Goldberg were discovered by Smith's wife on his phone.  Smith's wife told Rachel Goldberg she knew about the affair and that she (Rachel) need to tell her  husband (Jon). Rachel Goldberg told her husband about the affair before he confronted Tim Smith. The confrontation led to Tim Smith's death.
