"Antelope Boulevard: A man in a red Toyota Tacoma approached someone about 7 p.m. Thursday asking if they wanted to buy a pound of marijuana. 


Kevin Duane Sampson, 51, and Robert Noel Howard, 40, both of Eureka were cited and released on the charges of possession of controlled substance paraphernalia and possession of a controlled substance. Sampson was cited on the additional charge of possession of marijuana for sale."

Acting on a tip, Special Agents with the Humboldt County Drug Task Force responded to the Redway area in an attempt to locate 52-year-old Kevin Sampson. Agents knew that Sampson had an active felony warrant for his arrest for possession of a narcotic for sales.

At about 3 p.m. on Jan. 2, 2018 Agents spotted Sampson driving a truck on Redwood Drive in Redway. They requested a Sheriff’s Deputy conduct a stop on the vehicle, which he did. Sampson was taken into custody for his warrant and searched subsequent to his arrest.

Agents found on his person approximately ½ ounce of suspected heroin, a digital scale and other evidence of sales. He was placed under arrest for his warrant, possession of a narcotic for sale and transportation of a narcotic. He was transported to the Humboldt County Correctional Facility and booked on the above listed charges.

Sampson’s passenger, 54-year-old Rodney Mixon was also placed under arrest for misdemeanor warrants and transported to the Correctional Facility for booking.
