Setting for a preliminary hearing was scheduled today for Richard Dean, from Hoopa. Dean was charged with the murder of a 52 year old in Arcata in October 2015.
No doctor's report yet; continued to February 21st.
Criminal proceedings were suspended; Dean went to Napa State Hospital; returned and criminal proceedings were reinstated. Details in post linked below.
Deputy Public Defender Casey Russo took over this case since Ms. Kelly Neel has been appointed as a Humboldt Superior Court Judge.
