Fleeing from the police and having warrants out for his arrest is a habit for Cody Benjamin Sides


Today's press release:
Around 5:45 p.m. on Jan. 23, 2017, sheriff's deputies responded to a residence on the 300 block of Panther Ridge Rd. in Willow Creek following up on a tip that wanted felony warrant subject Cody Benjamin Sides, 37, was inside.


The California Highway Patrol responded to assist deputies. Sides was located inside a bedroom of the residence. He was taken into custody without incident. Upon a search of Sides, deputies located a hidden handcuff key attached to his belt.
Sides was arrested on a felony warrant for possession of stolen property and a second felony warrant for possession of a controlled substance, possession of concentrated cannabis and possession of a stolen vehicle or equipment.

2016 press release:

On Wednesday, October 19, 2016 at about 8:25 p.m. a Humboldt County Deputy Sheriff and his K-9 conducted a traffic stop on Trinity Acres Rd in Willow Creek. When the vehicle stopped, the driver took off on foot.

The Deputy along with his K-9, contacted three passengers and did not pursue the driver at this time. The Deputy determined there was marijuana in the vehicle and conducted a search. The Deputy located two firearms, approximately 39 grams of heroin, 1.2 grams of methamphetamine, approximately 1 lb of marijuana, and ammunition of various calibers.

During the investigation the Deputy determined the driver to be 35-year-old Cody Benjamin Sides. Sides has two felony warrants out for his arrest and is on several grants of probation.
