"Our intentions are not and will not minimize the death of your son and we will not even try to attempt to feel what heart break you and your wife must be experiencing"

Zoellner family responds to Josiah's dad:

"Our intentions are not and will not minimize the death of your son and we will not even try to attempt to feel what heart break you and your wife must be experiencing. "

"We hope you understand that Kyle did not kill your son and through upcoming factual information that will be soon coming out you will come to understand what actually took place at this party.  We will respect your lost at all cost except when it comes at the expense of an innocent member of our are family.  We have been and will continue to do our own investigation that we know will bring the truth out.  This will not take away your pain but think you would do the same for your own son."

  3. Why keep posting Kyles horrible photo why not a good one? Its humiliating enough to go through all this shit when he was locked up and portrayed as the killer now he's innocent and we are still blasting his photo that looks awful.

    1. Seriously "Anon", his family and Kyle don't have an issue with it, so who are you to complain? I don't see you complaining to other media about Kyle's photo or any mugshots. That photo is a constant reminder to those still maligning Kyle Zoellner after a court dismissed the complaint against him. Kyle did not beat himself up. You wannabe readers who think you know better about law, journalism, always complaining. Some of you are just miserable people, others the same trolls pissed that certain "useless news sources" that have ruled the roost like NCJ and LOCO providing pathetic news are being exposed. Not all local media outlets, MRU, Times Standard and the TV stations do a good job. Since my blog has grown, the constant attacks on facebook, this blog, other online sites come from anonymous trolls, who could be disgruntled competitors or their friends. Honest, hard work pays off. Not a single media outlet covered courts as regularly until I did. Why anyone still reads or advertises with certain media is beyond me. Makes you wonder who supports independent reporting in this town. And where these constant attacks come from. Not linking me anymore, not giving me credit when I break a story, it is all obvious who is threatened and who is really professional. Humboldt County Alert and Operation Safe Streets do a better job than paid media. This "seriously John" stuff is getting old and obvious.

    2. John, I never ever discredited you for your work and dedication I love your blog and the facts you always put up I appreciate what you do for our community. Never did I think I knew more about journalism or the law. I just don't agree with the picture I loved how Kym used his other photo. I wasn't aware of the family or Kyle being okay with this photo. Would you be embarrassed of a photo like this of you constantly being posted in any update to the story? I sure as hell would but that's why we have different opionions John.

    4. Having different opinions is fine but suggesting that just because Kym used a different photo that you prefer, that makes it a better choice is still insinuated in your response. There have been graphic photos on Kym's site as well. People take issue with Kym at times too. The above comment is still appropriate because I see more complaining from people on work done by me or volunteer facebook pages over their personal preferences which have no bearing on the journalism presented. And speaking for others like Kyle, assuming your opinion is theirs, and being critical. I have mentioned a few times about my past credentials as a journalist. National networks dont see my reporting nor do others regionally as some locals do, and they respect my work. I have worked in mainstream media as a traditional journalist in major cities. And get tired of explaining myself over and over again because some people have their local favorites based on friendships or political views and think that passes as journalism. Again, hmmm this is not just directed at you, but to my critics in general. I earn my paycheck and provide this blog as a community service. I dont sit around listening to scanners, printing off press releases and wish I could hire talented reporters and photographers if local ad revenue was not being wasted on certain conservative and liberal "media" outlets that selectively cover news to preserve the status quo. Outlets with three or more staffers get scooped and don't provide news I do. I have worked non stop for three weeks despite constant harassment, informing the community one on one, in addition to my blog. And this isn't new. So your comment is getting these responses because right now a lot more people are reading, regionally and nationally, and they should see how independent grassroots reporting is treated by most politicians, most businesses, certain media outlets and certain outlets who feel threatened by real journalism. I chose to live here and provide this service. Unlike many other "journalists", I have worked elsewhere successfully and plan to. I built my business from scratch. Wasting time addressing comments like yours takes time away from providing information to the community.

    5. Why keep posting his picture where he is beaten? Because Kyle deserves justice. If people see how bad he was beaten by a group of thugs, just before he was falsely accused of stabbing one, maybe they will get upset, and DEMAND justice for Kyle. His damaged face needs to be answered for. If the picture upsets you, call the Humboldt county DA, call the Arcata PD... ask why nothing has been done to put the criminals who beat Kyle away... These same criminals are running free, promoting themselves are"speakers for the family of the man who was stabbed"... Do you feel safe with these criminal thugs, who beat an innocent man that bad running around your family and kids? I sure as heck don't. They need to be locked up for the damage they did to Kyle! #justiceforkyle

  4. Why don't you complainers ever take any risks or stand up to the powers in this town. Not a single media outlet does either. I have, and will continue to report for this community, that deserves better.

    1. Again, hmmm I appreciate your comment. It is not your specific comment alone but the fact that now in less than ten minutes, I have had three comments on a photo I will use, continue to use, and continue to report on my blog the way I chose. There are more that appreciate me and understand me and they will continue to get this service.

  5. Thanks for using that photo.
It shows the damage that racist cowardly blacks do to fine communities.
