There are several realty listings for this one house. It is an active listing, house for sale for $839,000.
I found the photo above in at least in two of these links. It is a closet with Eureka Police Department uniforms.
Links to only some of the listings:

(this one lists it at $859,000)
Update: The assessor's office lists that address as Chief Mills house. That information is accessible to the public.
I have emailed Chief Mills last night and will be following up . I asked Chief Mills if he was leaving Eureka or just moving. I did ask him if it was his house, last night, in my email.
On May 25, I also contacted Eureka City Manager Greg Sparks.
Mills
ReplyDeleteThere's a picture of Mills in the office. I don't blame him for not living in Eureka.
ReplyDeleteGood catch anon. I did not see that one.
DeleteThe plaque with his name on it in the same photo is also a good indication it is his house.
ReplyDeleteCheck out the letters on the wall above the tv
ReplyDeleteJohn-
ReplyDeleteI appreciate the work you do and know that you care about people. Just a heads up the link for Remax does list the address. Just want to make sure you are aware that using your blog one could find out where Chief Mills lives.
Not suggesting you remove anything but informing you, so you can make an informed decision.
Anon, I appreciate your comment. Several links have the address. Many people were already aware where Chief Mills lives without the address or photos with any identifying information in them. As I explained to the one other person who contacted me last night, the person who took the photos should have been more discreet. They can also look it up in at the assessor's office. A few people said they would contact other media as well, I just happened to post it first. Chief Mills has not contacted me yet. His wife commented on my Facebook page and did not express any concern, just a funny quip unrelated to these concerns These listings have been up for a while and the realtors may want to be selective in what photos they post.
DeleteI hope we are not losing him! He is a great solution-oriented creative problem solver. It's really impressive the way he allows people their dignity, while not letting criminals off the hook.
ReplyDeleteThe listings come from multiple realty sites, because they are tied to the MLS, or multiple listing system for the Humboldt County Association of Realtors. Owners names are not listed in the MLS system.
ReplyDeleteI do agree with you that the listing agent should have been more discreet with the photos that were made public. The big "M" in one of the photos should have been removed before the picture was taken, too.
Personal items, photos, or anything else that ties a person to a house should be removed or "put away" when photos are taken for things like this, or when showing a house.....A buyer is buying the house, not the personal belongings inside it.
(from a former real estate agent who was very picky about photos) :)
No response from city government? They are probably waiting for Mills to ink his next deal before they put out the press release.
ReplyDeleteNo response from Chief Andy Mills either.
ReplyDeletechief mills probably ain't too scared...he's got friends, their friends got friends...
ReplyDeleteall is well...
