One arrested for allegedly having meth and weed; another tased after resisting arrest in Garberville

On 08-08-2016 at 2:12 p.m., Humboldt County Sheriff's Office Deputies assigned to the Garberville Station conducted a probation search at a residence located in the 900 block of Locust Street, Garberville.  Deputies had received numerous complaints from citizens reporting narcotics activity.

Deputies contacted Garberville resident, Kelly Winters (age 43), and searched her person pursuant to her probation terms.  Deputies located suspected methamphetamine and concentrated cannabis on her person.  Winters was detained pending further investigation.  When deputies attempted to search Winters' residence, Jacob Silverman (age 40), fled from a back bedroom window.  Deputies pursued Silverman who was subsequently apprehended by the use of a Taser.  Silverman received medical attention at a nearby hospital and was later booked into the Humboldt County Correctional Facility (HCCF) for resisting arrest.

Winters' residence was also searched pursuant to her probation terms.  Deputies seized approximately three pounds of marijuana and additional suspected methamphetamine from within the residence.  Winters was booked into the HCCF for possession of a controlled substance, possession of concentrated cannabis, possession of more than an ounce of marijuana, and probation violation.
