Read the previous post.
Then, look at the documents below.
Allen Don McCloskey is listed as a home owner of 1281 Allard Avenue at the Humboldt County Assessors Office. That address is not in Ward 4.
He listed 2420 Wood Street as his address with the City, and was qualified by the Humboldt Election Office at that address. The 2420 Wood Street property is owned by Justine Trepanier and denise Maciel and is in foreclosure.
He also has to live at the 1281 address to get a homeowner's exemption of $7,000. I have that documentation as well.

Where does Allen McCloskey live? According to the Humboldt County Elections Office, he is still registered in Ward 1
Allen McCloskey, who has taken out papers to run for Eureka City Council Ward 4 is still registered in Ward 1 or Ward 5?
I called the Humboldt County Elections Office just a few minutes ago and spoke with Judy, the election manager. She could only confirm that Allen McCloskey is registered and that he is registered in Ward 1.
I have left a message for City Clerk Pam Powell.
I have also contacted Mr. McCloskey for a response.
Ms. Powell got back to me earlier in the day on August 2 and said, "Allen McCloskey hasn’t returned his nomination papers and I don’t have any records yet." I asked if there was any requirement for how long one needed to live in a Ward, if they moved to run in that Ward. She said, "The City of Eureka does not have a length of residency requirement.
Mr. McClosksey got back to me later on the evening of August 2 around 7:37 p.m.
This is what Mr. McCloskey told me: My address and registration has been verified by the city clerks office."
Humboldt County Voter Registration Records show that an Allen McCloskey has lived at an address in Hawthorne Street since 2008, which is in Ward 1 (I am not printing the exact address on this blog).
Mr. McCloskey said, "Mr Chiv, my father lives in Ward 1 on Hawthorne Street."
This is correct but the confusion occurred because both seem to have the same first and last name with a different middle name. So the Election Office was not incorrect in the Ward 1 information.
I checked further and that is how I found out that father and son have the same first and last names.
Public records also show that Allen McCloskey and his partner, Antonio Moreno-Mungia purchased a home in May 2015 at Allard Avenue (again not printing exact address). That is in an incorporated area of Humboldt.
He did confirm, " Yes my husband and I purchased a rental property on Allard Ave in early 2015."
On 8/3, I found out that the elections office had a blackout period and is still processing anyone who re-registered after the last election. So, even if Mr. McCloskey re registered, no way of tracking and verifying that for this post.
I asked some follow up questions, including proof of him being registered in Ward 4 and gave him a deadline today for any additional comment. No response yet.
