The lawsuit is Goat Rock Ranch, LLC vs Chalk Mountain Ranch LLC.  Mercer Fraser is listed as a party in Humboldt Superior Court. Brandon Barnwell was not listed on the Humboldt Superior court calendar for the last hearing but is a key party in this litigation.

Barnwell is represented by Harland Law Firm partner, Ms. Allison Jackson. Goat Rock Ranch LLC and Mercer Fraser are represented by Mr. Mark Harrison and Mr. Adam Guernsey  from the Sacramento law firm Harrison, Temblador, Hungerford and Guernsey, LLP.

The last post is very detailed with court documents and the recent filings cover much of the same information. 

There was an ex parte hearing on 9/23 after I did the last post filed by Mercer Fraser for a TRO & OSC. I checked the court minutes which list the outcomes. 

Mr. Adam Guernsey was present for Mercer Fraser. Ms. Allison Jackson with Barnwell.

Court minutes list the basics as they should. What makes this small county court coverage interesting to most readers, including lawyers is my observations and reporting about the dynamics, the parties and people's own experiences about the local court system.

Three years after I started covering Humboldt courts, a friend designed this for a rate card and these were her words. She is a businesswoman, used to be very active in politics and familiar with local courts. 12 years later, I am sharing it with my summary of the 9/23 ex parte hearing.

The 10/13 date vacated and hearing on preliminary injunction continued by court to 10/20. A CMC is scheduled for 2/9/26.

10/20/25: The court continued the matter until October 31 because the clerks office did not have Mercer Fraser’s reply brief in the file.
