I was correct about the transit company Amos Nuckols worked for; he picked up Jane Doe up at Bonomini's market; probable cause describes alleged sexual assault

 

I did my own research on sexual battery suspect Amos Nuckols and I was correct about the transit company he worked for; whether he is still employed with North Bay Medical transit, I have not been able to confirm. See their response in my previous coverage.

I had requested the file. Today, I got to see the probation report and the criteria Humboldt Probation Department uses to provide feedback to local judges. I also viewed and have a copy of the probable cause declaration signed 9/24/25 by Humboldt Superior Court Judge Lawrence Killoran.

Yesterday, there was an OR bail hearing. Thank you Retired Judge John Feeney for denying Nuckols supervised release and taking all factors in consideration. Nuckols has been served with a protective order in court.

Probation report confirms Nuckols is employed at North Bay Medical.

In the probable cause declaration, it states, on 9/20/25, Nuckols picked up the alleged victim at Bonomini's market, drove her to Loleta, assaulted victim by forcibly holding her hair & continuously rubbing his penis on her face until he ejaculated on her person. Victim stated she was in sustained fear during the incident. 

Arresting officers are HCSO deputies Zackariah Dickson, Shane Steele and Meghan Hwang.

10/8/25: Preliminary hearing continued by defense to 10/23, Public Defender declares conflict; Mr. Gregory Kreis appointed.

10/23/25: Preliminary hearing continued by DA to 11/18 due to outstanding discovery.

11/18/25: Preliminary hearing continued to 12/2 because no judge and no courtroom available.

11/25/25: A motion to continue the preliminary hearing by the DA was filed after I did the last update. Preliminary hearing rescheduled for 1/7/26.
