**I posted this three hours ago, just on Facebook. A helpful commenter said EPD spoke with him at 9:45. There is an EPD field interview conducted at 9:44 a.m. near the Courthouse at that location**
"How's it going man?"
This is who I just photographed writing in front of the jail. The messages are all over from 5th street and H to 5th and J in front of the Courthouse and some on the corner of 5th and I. While the guy may look like Stephen Paiment and the messages maybe similar, hard to tell if it is him. 5th street traffic near the Courthouse isn't an ideal place to stop and pause.
Even if it is Paiment, I wrote about his conditions of his supervised release and it is up to Probation to keep an eye on him and Eureka Police Department to determine identity and if a crime has been committed.
The person from Humboldt making comments online hours ago, did you call EPD instead of posting on Facebook? If you did and if EPD checked this out, this guy is still there and it is not a news story unless there is an arrest. I took the photos because keyboard warriors in Humboldt who think they know what news is, who think they can post without consequences and think media should do their errands for unverified claims should get the attention they obviously seek and be held to the same standards media is and has to follow. Don't go accusing someone on the street, FB commenter, if you can't be bothered to verify the claims and call law enforcement first.
