Man armed with gun and knife detained and taken into custody in Arizona at the site of Charlie Kirk's memorial claimed to be a member of local law enforcement

Local police and the U.S. Secret Service detained a man at the State Farm Stadium in Glendale Arizona and according to some sources, he is in custody. Only one source mentioned it was yesterday so that has yet to be confirmed. Charlie Kirk’s memorial service is scheduled to be held at the stadium tomorrow and security prep is currently going on.

Only Fox News is quoting an anonymous federal source claiming the man is "a former deputy sheriff out of Idaho. He came and identified himself with expired credentials."

Other coverage just said the man claimed to be a member of law enforcement.

Some media sources reported that U.S. Secret Service spokesperson Anthony Guglielmi said the man was armed with a knife and a gun and was “acting suspiciously. The individual is not a member of authorized law enforcement working the event and is currently in custody. The U.S. Secret Service and local law enforcement are investigating the circumstances as to why he was at the location."

There is not much information officially released and the post will updated as details come in and are confirmed.

I have reached out to the Maricopa County Sheriff's Office myself.

Other media has already reported that Joshua Runkles is charged with impersonating law enforcement officer, carrying a weapon into a prohibited place. Runkles was released on bond after being booked at the Maricopa County Jail.
