Once again, last minute twist in SVP Donald Lilly's jury trial

Often, the community doesn't hear about sexually violent predators until they are ready to be placed in the community. I have covered SVP Donald Lilly.

This is from my May 9, 2023 post.

"There was a mistrial declared in sexually violent predator Donald Lilly's case. This one day after an alternate was substituted for an injured juror. The jury was "hopelessly deadlocked", thanked and excused. I did a post on Lilly yesterday and have added this update to that post."

5/22/23: By stipulation 5/30 date vacated. Disposition reset  on 11/22/23.

Deputy District Attorney Whitney Timm is the prosecutor. In 2023, Conflict Counsel Supervising Attorney Meagan O'Connell represented Lilly.

CR2501908 is a new case for Lilly which was filed 9/9/25 and he was arraigned the same day. Ms. Timm discovered that the statute of limitations for one of new victims had not expired. Lilly ended up agreeing to a plea and agreed to lifetime sex offender registration.

Court minutes list this is part of plea in CV171000. There are no documents in e court accessible to the media or public since the CV 171000 case is confidential per Humboldt Superior Court administration. There is a hearing on 10/3/25 for Lilly to be booked & then released to Coalinga State Hospital. CR046178S is a previous case for forcible rape.

10/3/25: Continued to 11/7/25 after Judge Kelly Neel & attorneys' discussion.
