It took Judge Timothy Canning issuing a court order and only another month and two weeks for State Hospital to finally transport convicted murderer Antone Aubrey to the Humboldt jail for his hearing for outpatient treatment

I did a post in August about issues with transporting convicted murderer Antone Aubrey from the State Hospitals to the Humboldt jail for his outpatient hearing which, as of the last update, was scheduled from October 13 to October 15.

Looks like the State Hospital finally complied with Humboldt Superior Court Judge Timothy Canning's transport order issued on 8/15/25.

In July 2020, Humboldt Superior Court Judge Christopher Wilson found Antone Aubrey guilty of second degree murder and not guilty by reason of insanity.

Aubrey was charged with Count 1 murder of his sister Angel Aubrey. Special allegation for Count 1 is discharging a firearm during the commission of the crime causing great bodily injury or death. Count 2 is felon in possession of a firearm.

Aubrey had entered a not guilty plea to the charges and then later, a not guilty plea by reason of insanity.

I covered this case extensively since 2018. All prior coverage can be accessed via the search feature on the blog.

10/7/25: 10/13, 10/14 and 10/15 vacated. Court minutes indicate future dates & times for trial to be determined.

10/20/25: Outpatient hearing status continued by stipulation to 10/28; Aubrey transported back to State Hospital.

10/28/25: Readiness scheduled for 11/19; jury trial scheduled for 12/1. The same day dates were scheduled,  a motion to continue was filed and scheduled for 10/31 by the Public Defender's. There is no mention in court minutes if this was before or after court dates are set on 10/28.
