Courtroom unavailability, fire alarm, issues with transport of convicted felon Allen Perkins to trial disrupt jury selection all week

54 year old convicted felon Allen Perkins has five open cases with a jury trial going in in CR2303622 for robbery, grand theft and vandalism. I tried to take a screenshot of his record in Humboldt Superior Court and even if I ignored the duplicate listings, there are way too many cases to fit in one screenshot and page. I have included charges for the current case on trial, court minutes from 7/16 and 7/17; charges for some other criminal cases, his writ of habeas corpus petition which was denied and a civil lawsuit he has against the Humboldt County Sheriff's Office.  Perkins has so many cases that he has also filed a civil lawsuit against HCSO and there is a case management conference on 11/3/25. I have included some court documents. Since they are written in pencil, the scanned versions in e court are difficult to read but allegations include claims of injuries, Perkins Quran being disposed in the trash. Perkins has filed three case management conference statements in that lawsuit; the last two were rejected and returned because not on proper form.

Perkins is not someone I covered or would cover but based on 7/18/25 court minutes and this civil lawsuit, this is another Luigi Messina wasting court time.

I just checked on his lead case because Deputy District Attorney Roger Rees is the prosecutor for the jury trial and saw all the cases. Perkins is just your average Humboldt criminal with open cases and charges of  robbery, assault, battery, multiple violation of court orders and possession of a controlled substance.

Deputy Conflict Counsel Zach Curtis is Perkin's attorney. Humboldt Superior Court Retired Judge Christopher Wilson has been assigned the trial.

On 7/14, there was no judge/no courtroom. On 7/15 jury selection started. On 7/16, after everyone had to evacuate the Courthouse due to a fire alarm, jurors were excused for the day. I was at the Courthouse when that happened.

On 7/17, there was an issue while Perkins was being transported. Jurors were sent home.
