In March, I reported on the arrest of Mario Avelar's wife, Andrea Avelar aka Andrea Schafle. There are details in that post about the criminal case and a family law case. Based on the developments in the case since my last post, my observations were correct.

Andrea Avelar hired Ms. Kathleen Bryson. Deputy District Attorney Jessica Watson is the prosecutor for the criminal case.
On 7/10, defense motion to modify protective order was granted by Judge Lawrence Killoran.
On 7/16, the day of the preliminary hearing, Andrea Avelar entered a plea and was sentenced by Judge Kaleb Cockrum. Andrea Avelar pleaded guiltyto Count 2 PC 415 distrurbing the peace and People dismissed Count 1, domestic violence. There is a review hearing on 8/8 on Andrea's mandated anger management requirement.
In the related family law case, there is a hearing on 8/11. Another Jerry Springer Humboldt drama where grown "adults" behave worse than a toddler wasting law enforcement and court time and resources.
8/8/25: In CR2500638, anger management completed and no future dates set.
8/11/25: In FL2500200, there request for domestic violence order continued to 10/8/25 but may not be necessary. See court minutes for details.
10/8/25: Court minutes were not up on 10/8/25 and they were not up until late afternoon on 10/9/25. I do not have time to sit around checking 20 plus cases a day with Humboldt court minutes not up for several days on a daily basis when I am covering other news and court cases nationally and all this content is time consuming. There are no future dates in the family law case. There is a child custody counselor report filed 10/6/25. Based on that document, there is no reason for me to continue doing follow up on this family law case.
