Arbuckle and Lane is just one of two repeat offenders from yesterday's and today's  arrests.

Then there are the violent crimes arrests from yesterday.

Travis Boyd Harpe was arrested by Eureka Police Department yesterday on a Ramey warrant for PC 422 criminal threats, PC 245(a)(4) assault with force likely to produce great bodily injury, PC 211 robbery and PC 209(b)(1) aggravated kidnapping.

Reymundo Hernandez-Gomez was arrested by HCSO yesterday for PC 451(d) arson and PC 417(a)(1) brandishing a deadly weapon other than a firearm. Per HCSO Lt. Jesse Taylor, the location for the arson is Connick creek in  Garberville.

Juan Diego Dominguez-Sotelo was arrested by Fortuna Police Department for PC 236 false imprisonment, PC 243.4(a) sexual battery and PC 647 (f) public intoxication. He posted bond.

Anyone can check the jail log, google a penal code now but for 11 years it is this blog documenting and informing you how the criminal justice system works and giving you all the background of previous arrests and follow up of the court cases. This is just one day of arrests on the jail log. For years, everyday I follow up on repeat offenders and new arrests. This in addition to other news.

Imagine how law enforcement, the DA's office, the jail and courts, who are all short staffed, are going to feel Monday and next week when there is a backlog of court cases working their way to the court system. California has a soft on crime problem but Humboldt leadership's choices on economy and looking the other way on criminal activity for decades and Humboldt's touchy feely enablers have created and exacerbated the mess. How many "locals" and "transplants" have built their "wealth" without grants, government subsidies, pot, ciggarettes, alcohol or renting low income housing? The same people and their spoiled progeny look down on others struggling and will not allow anyone but their clique to "prosper."

Yet, their time and resources are not affected. Easy to sit in a chair and read on a cell phone and computer and demand why cases take so long and want instant information with no empathy for those of us affected by the constant barrage of repeat criminals.

I know the people appreciate me but this is for the elected officials and all the businesses and big bucks Humboldtians who refuse to financially invest and support in independent reporting and hard work. They have no problem running ads on decades old lazy local media owned and controlled by the good ole boys. They know I won't look the other way and don't report selectively. What I do doesn't have to be a thankless job which is how Fred Moore once described the news and service I provide to this community. It is a choice people, including Fred, make about who they support. People will send me press releases or want publicity but don't advertise or donate.

9/15/25:  Nicholas Arbuckle arrested again, two months later, by Arcata Police Department for
HS 11350 possesion of a controlled substance and PC 1203.2(a) probation violation.

9/27/25: Nicholas Arbuckle arrested again by HCSO.
