Despite an existing civil restraining order from DANCO and County, Aunna Bollman posted threats against Sheriff Honsal, Rex, DANCO and several others, it is only due to a vigilant CHP officer that threats against Deputy DA Rees, Eureka's Pam Powell, Bollman's neighbor were discovered; they were warned on July 3 and were in fear for their safety over the holiday weekend

I just did a detailed post yesterday on Aunna Bollman. And another detailed post on July 5. I also included the Ramey warrant for the latest arrest. Some of that information was referenced in court today by the People and two alleged victims who addressed the Court.

This post is on Bollman's OR bail hearing today. When she came into court, she glanced at me and Deputy District Attorney Roger Rees who is one of the alleged victims in the 2025 and Bollman's 12th criminal case. City of Eureka Assistant Manager and Clerk Pam Powell is another alleged victim and was seated behind me. The third alleged victim is Bollman's former neighbor Donna Cotham who was not in court today. Bollman lived at the Serenity Inn until recently. Bollman living at Serenity Inn is part of public and court records. From remarks today, it seems she is no longer living there.

Most people read my blog daily and many several times a day so if you are a new reader, you need to access the two most recent posts and all previous coverage which have charges and details on Bollman's 12 cases and three civil restraining orders.

The case was specially set before Humboldt Superior Court Presiding Judge Kelly Neel. It seems unless Retired Visiting Judge Ksenia Tsenin is in Humboldt; cases in which Mr. Gregory Kreis is an attorney are being scheduled before Judge Neel. If you are a regular reader of my blog, you know why these special assignments are made.

I have seen Mr. Kreis appear before both Judge Tsenin and Judge Neel and despite Mr. Kreis being a former colleague, Judge Neel has shown more impartiality and her ruling today was for public safety. Judge Neel is a very fair judge. She comes prepared for court. She has heard family law cases, juvenile cases civil cases and criminal cases. Judge Neel has been both a prosecutor and a defense attorney. She is the most organized judge I have seen and this includes judges in Pennsylvania and Georgia where I covered court cases and other news for local newspapers. Judge Tsenin has released other defendants over the DA's objections about public safety concerns in other court cases I have covered.

Deputy District Attorney Carolyn Schaffer appeared on the case for the People. A motion to terminate mental health diversion in 10 of Bollman's previous 11 criminal cases was filed by Ms. Schaffer and the order shortening time was denied for today but Judge Neel said Ms. Schaffer could resubmit the motion.

I have had my own experiences with Bollman. I blocked her on social media. She emailed me last year. I chose at that time to inform Conflict Counsel who represented her instead of reporting her to authorities or informing the DA. From her X account, I see she has threatened others, including lawsuits.

Mr. Kreis told Judge Neel that Bollman is employed as a cook at KFC. He mentioned another sober living facility "had a bed open " and that Bollman agrees to comply with diversion. I am not mentioning the name of the facility or the person associated with it which was mentioned in court. Mr. Kreis asked Bollman be released on ankle monitor.

I am not sure how an ankle monitor deters Bollman threatening people on X, sending emails or leaving voicemails that make people fearful. An ankle monitor did not deter Sean Lundy who I have written about and despite the DA's efforts, he was granted mental health diversion.

At what point are certain Humboldt judges and Visting Judges going to stop allowing local public defenders and local private defense attorneys to endanger the public and in Bollman's case government officials and prosecutors from these repeat offenders and grant mental health diversion in egregious cases because some "doctor" aka psychologist or social worker in touchy feely, soft on crime  California believes Bollman, Lundy, Analia Martinez and other repeat offenders can change. These people and their actions and repeat, multiple arrests say otherwise. These are just the people who got arrested. The public deals with this kind of behavior in Humboldt daily with other people where they live and work and even people who wander into the Courthouse on a daily basis. Law enforcement can't keep arresting everyone for the failures of societal ills and enablers who coddle these repeat offenders.

Courts could operate 24/7 and still not get through all cases if that happened. At some point, as a society, people need to be held accountable for their behavior that endangers others without pyscho babble excuses.

Ms. Schaffer said, "The People object to the defendant's release. She is already on 10 separate mental health diversions. Threatening social media posts on Twitter, now X, are beyond those in complaint. A CHP Task officer reviewed those threats and reached out to parties in defendant's X accounts."

"Defendant in her voice on her X account threatened to kill Deputy District Attorney Roger Rees who previously handled her cases, City of Eureka Assistant Manager Pam Powell and her neighbor Donna who is afraid to leave her home," said Ms. Schaffer.

Mr. Rees asked to address the Court. "When I was informed of the threats, my wife and children were very afraid. I was going to a 4th of July barbeque and afraid if Bollman was not arrested for the safety of my family and others around me. Ms. Bollman has gone through the court system. I was supportive of her being on meds. The behavior is continuing." Mr. Rees expressed concern "for my safety, my family and anyone around me."

Ms. Powell spoke next, "I have not met Ms. Bollman. I received voicemails. She felt police were stalking her. She left really disturbing messages. " Ms. Powell shared specific references Bollman made about her son and his friends. Ms. Powell mentioned the "July 3 message on Twitter."

Many X users still call it  Twitter. I do.

"The EPD Chief called me," said Ms. Powell. "Bollman said she knew where I live. This is frightening for others I work with. She leaves messages for others at City Hall. I would like her to remain in custody."

Ms. Schaffer said,"Up to now, she was reported as doing well; on paper; which makes the recent conduct more concerning. She has a history of terrorizing others in the community."

"Ms. Bollman, I will deny release," said Judge Neel.

Bollman whispered something to Mr. Kreis. He told Judge Neel, "She was off her meds. What she said to Ms. Powell was a threat. The other threats were on X."

Judge Neel repeated her ruling, "I am going to deny release without prejudice."

Addressing Bollman, "Your attorney maybe able to get additional information post preliminary hearing. He can ask for release again. You are on diversion for two felonies. Now, what I have before me is three felonies. I think there is elder abuse (in her previous cases). I don't think I can do anything short of keeping you in custody for the safety of others."

The DA is correct in asking for Bollman's mental health diversion in previous cases to be terminated.

Bollman now has 12 open criminal cases and three existing civil restraining orders and Mr. Kreis thinks just releasing her, believing she will take her meds will work? Why? It hasn't so far.

Before today, I thought a commitment to State Hospital could be an option but local defense attorneys can then argue for early release or outpatient treatment. They have in other Humboldt cases. The only place Bollman needs to go after going through due process in court is directly to jail or prison. Do not pass go. She can take a plea or risk being convicted by a jury. There is enough evidence. In a controlled environment, she can take her meds and prove after years if she is fit to earn release back into society. If you do not work in law enforcement, the court system or have been subjected to what law enforcement, those who work in court and I have gone through by people like Bollman, Lundy and Martinez simply for reporting facts about their cases; you would have a clue  what it feels like to live in fear and work under stress. Today is just one of those days. I had to leave the courthouse today before I was done with work and will be getting a copy of an incident I reported to HCSO dispatch.

We have been there for you. When is the public going to speak up for us and not just selfishly express outrage when you are affected? I won't hold my breath. In the 21 years I have been here and 11 years of doing this blog, I know who has been there for me and who has not. I will speak up as I have for public safety in this case for all Bollman's  alleged victims but some who I know for years and their safety does concern me more and they are more vulnerable being out in the public. In a small community like ours, these are not just people you interact with professionally without getting to know them personally as people who do not deserve to be threatened for doing their jobs. I can relate because I have experienced it consistently  and the court system is a failure for protection or justice.

Preliminary hearing is scheduled for 7/17 but Mr. Kreis said he may file a motion to continue. DA's motion to terminate mental health diversion in previous cases should be scheduled for the same day when it is resubmitted.

**Listed below are graphic threats still visible on her X account. They include the threats mentioned in court today about Mr. Rees, Ms. Powell, her neighbor Donna and threats to Humboldt Sheriff William Honsal and First District Supervisor Bohn. There are threats to Eureka Police Department and others. These threats were part of today's court record. The County of Humboldt and Danco already have civil restraining orders against her and she is still posting threats on X about Danco, Rex and Billy?**
