CalPoly Humboldt and molestation suspect Ryan Graves makes offer to resolve case on the day of his preliminary hearing

 



On 7/8/25, the day molestation suspect Ryan Graves preliminary hearing was scheduled, Humboldt Deputy DA Jessica Watson accepted defense offer to resolve the case. Humboldt Deputy Public Defender Ben McLaughlin is Graves attorney. Setting/change of plea is scheduled for 8/22.

At the time of his arrest, Graves was a Cal PolyHumboldt employee.

7/8/25 court minutes


8/22/25: Ryan Graves entered a plea to Count 2 PC 288 (a) (2) ; Count 1 PC 288.3 was dismissed. Sentencing scheduled for September 30.


9/30/25: Sentencing continued by stipulation to 10/7, defense had not received probation report until recently.

10/7/25: Request for reduction to misdemeanor withdrawn by defense. Humboldt Superior Court Judge Lawrence Killoran sentenced Graves to 240 days in jail with custody credit for 4 days. Two year prison term suspended. Sex offender registration at highest level 3. Commit to jail 11/29/25.
