These arrests make press releases, assets are seized but in terms of consequences, they are not worth wasting time doing any detailed followup

In March 2025, HCSO issued a press release about John McGhan's arrest.

On 7/7/25, two of McGhan's cases were on calendar; one 2025 case and one 2022 case. 

In the 2025 case, McGhan was arraigned on 6/4/25; on 7/7/25, there was a pre trial with confirmation of counsel. Ms. Kathleen Bryson is McGhan's attorney. Trial setting is scheduled for 8/27/25. Probation violation is alleged the 2022 DUI case.

Two different misdemeanor Deputy DAs have appeared at the two hearings. Drug cases and misdemeanor cases are not ones I typically follow. Compared to the other crimes and arrests in Humboldt County, these drug cases may count as press releases and seized assets but in terms of consequences, they are not worth wasting time I do not have. I will check on this case but most likely, all that will happen is dates being shuffled around.
