EPD Officer Richard Stancliff and Officer Jack Cole honored by MADD for excellence in DUI enforcement. Know both officers but have had more interaction with Officer Cole who formerly worked at HCSO. He is very good at dealing with the public, his demeanor, knowledge of the law and practical approach in responding to situations that are urgent but not life threatening is something that cannot be taught; it is just natural ability.

EPD Press Release:

The Eureka Police Department is proud to recognize Officers Richard Stancliff and Jack Cole, who were honored at the 2025 Mothers Against Drunk Driving (MADD) Law Enforcement Recognition Event for their outstanding dedication to removing impaired drivers from the roadways and saving lives. The event, held earlier this month, celebrated the contributions of law enforcement officers across the state who have demonstrated exceptional commitment to DUI enforcement and traffic safety. Officers Stancliff and Cole were recognized for their leadership and efforts in protecting our community from the dangers of impaired driving. “We are proud of Officers Stancliff and Cole for their tireless work and commitment to traffic safety,” said Brian Stephens, Chief of Police. “Their recognition by MADD is a reflection of the integrity and professionalism they bring to the job every day.” MADD shared heartfelt appreciation with attendees, emphasizing the impact officers make on families and communities. “As we continue into the summer—the deadliest time of year on our roads and waterways for DUI/BUI—your efforts are more important than ever,” MADD wrote. “Thank you for the lives you are going to save.” The Eureka Police Department thanks MADD for their ongoing support and applauds all officers across the state working to keep our roads safe.
