Usually, I would just add a continuance update to the previous post. Human trafficking and money laundering suspects Uonan Uonan aka "Chicago John" and Nicholas Machado and "KGB"'s 2024 case was on for preliminary hearing on 6/5/25 and it was continued again; this was a defense request which was granted to 8/21. I had previously reported in 2024 that there had been settlement discussions.
I recognized Uonan who was waiting in hallway near Courtroom Two. Uonan said to the man he was waiting with "I cannot go anywhere, where would I go?" I don't think it was Machado but I only got a brief glimpse on my way to another courtroom.
Uonan also has a civil lawsuit filed against him by Michelle Hill. Uonan's attorney in the civil case, Ms. Cyndy Day-Wilson, has filed a cross complaint.
6/30/25: In the civil lawsuit, continuance for CMC and motion to compel requested by Ms. Cyndy Day-Wilson who represents Uonan granted by Judge Timothy Canning after Hill's attorney Mr. Marco Rodriguez has no objection. Next court date 9/19.
8/21/25: Preliminary hearing in criminal case for both Machado and Uonan continued by DA for further discussions. Setting on 11/5.
