Kudos to CHP, again, for this arrest. The same agency that arrested Javier Kinney. Thank you to Del Norte dispatch and Diana at records for their help. Let's see if Del Norte County DA presses charges.

Donahue posted bond. Yurok Tribal Police Department statement posted below.

Last night, Yurok Tribal Police Department Sergeant Brian Donahue was arrested on serious domestic violence charges in Crescent City.

The Tribal Police Department is cooperating with the investigating agency and conducting an internal inquiry into Donahue’s alleged conduct. The department placed Donahue on administrative leave pending the results of the investigation and potential prosecution.

“The criminal justice system was established to ensure due process is applied equally to every individual, including law enforcement officers. The community can expect full transparency from my department throughout this process. We put the community’s trust above all else,” said Yurok Tribal Police Chief Greg O’Rourke. “I expect every member of my department to embody the highest professional standards. Due to our unique authority, we have a responsibility to always adhere to the most rigorous code of conduct.”

Donahue was arrested on suspicion of the following charges: (273 .5 PC) inflicting corporal injury on a spouse/cohabitant, (245 PC) assault with a deadly weapon and (243 (D) PC) battery with serious bodily injury. The Del Norte County District Attorney will decide if he will be formally charged with the above charges.
