Elvine-Kreis to be transferred from Family Court

Humboldt Superior Court Judge Gregory Elvine-Kreis is being transferred from Family Court to criminal court.

The photo is from the boating incident mentioned in the current lawsuit filed against Elvine-Kreis, who is in the front wearing grey shorts. The lawsuit was filed by former Deputy Public Defender Rory Kalin.

The lawsuit against Elvine-Kreis involves an incident on a boat where he was allegedly drinking and partying with Humboldt Public Defenders, allegedly yelled Jewish slurs, allegedly pushed former deputy Public Defender Kalin into the water and allegedly indulged in other questionable behavior.

Dates for the case management conference on December 10, 2021 for the two lawsuits filed against Elvine-Kreis have been continued by stipulation to February 14, 2022.

The only options to transfer are civil and criminal. With all his conflicts with the Public Defenders' office, he definitely should not be hearing criminal cases.

Even with these lawsuits still pending, Elvine-Kreis is still in line to be Presiding Judge starting January 2022? The California Judicial Council and Commission on Judicial Performance are a joke.

It will take years to clean up the mess created by current Presiding Judge Joyce Hinrichs and Assistant joke Elvine-Kreis. Just by partying and Elvine-Kreis' unprofessional behavior in court that I have documented in several posts embarasses Humboldt.

The Assistant Presiding Judge will be Judge Kelly Neel. She is the one who should be Presiding Judge. The Assistant Presiding Judge should be Judge Kaleb Cockrum. Let us have two Humboldt Judges who actually know the law; follow court procedures, are respectful to all parties and have organizational skills.
