Defense has filed a motion to continue former Humboldt correctional officer and Central Station shooting suspect Sean Timothy O'Brien's preliminary hearing which is scheduled to be heard this morning.
There is a lot of evidence in the case and still coming in which makes sense, especially given what I previously reported.
O'Brien is scheduled for arraignment this afternoon. He is charged with attempted murder, w/ special allegation personal discharge of a firearm PC 12022.53 (c); assault with a firearm 245(a)(2) w/ great bodily injury; having a concealed firearm and discharge of a firearm with gross negligence. Alleged victim is Ethan Jacobs.
The preliminary hearing scheduled for December 6 was vacated. The new date is March 23, 2022. Motion to continue preliminary hearing granted. O'Brien unable to attend due to medical issues.Ms. Kathleen Bryson represents O'Brien.
