California named worst "Judicial Hellhole"

California named worst "Judicial Hellhole".  The state has been in in the top 3 for the dishonor for a decade and was named "Everlasting Judicial Hellhole" this summer. This was by the the American Tort Reform Association.

Based on my coverage of Humboldt Superior Court, Humbold should be #1 for uneven rulings and the worst, most embarassing, incompetent, joke as a Judge (if you haven't read my posts on Gregory Elvine Kreis and the lawsuit he is currently facing then do your research) and ignoring whatever rules and laws Humboldt likes about court procedures and open court. California deserves this shame because the California Judicial Council and California Commission, California State Bar and Gavin the joker do nothing.

I have some Humboldt civil lawsuits that I have reported on and have been checking between the "moneyed" in Humboldt who have a lot of money to throw around for cases that mostly settle and are a prefect example of why California is a "judicial hellhole."

"On an annual basis the American Tort Reform Association (“ATRA”) publishes its “Judicial Hellholes Report.” The Report focuses on litigation issues in state court systems and challenges for corporate defendants in the fair and unbiased administration of justice. The ATRA recently published its 2021-2022 Report and California is identified as the most disadvantageous jurisdiction in the country for corporate defendants."

The J.D. Supra article has a link to the executive summary and copy of the report.

The American Tort Reform Foundation (ATRF), in its 20th anniversary edition of the annual report, named California is the worst “Judicial Hellhole” in the country – where frivolous lawsuits thrive and courts produce uneven rulings.

After a two-year hiatus, the ‘Golden State’ has once again reclaimed its spot atop the Judicial Hellholes® list,” the ATRF said. “While the state’s demotion was due to the plethora of issues that faced former-Number 1, the Philadelphia Court of Common Pleas and the Supreme Court of Pennsylvania, and not a result of reform; this year it is too hard to ignore the significant lawsuit abuse and liability-expansion occurring in California.”

California has been in the Top 3 worst Judicial Hellholes® for a decade and was named an “Everlasting Judicial Hellhole” this summer, the ATRF said.

The California Globe included these as the top reasons for California’s “Judicial Hellhole”:

Baseless Prop-65 lawsuits thrive in courts, volume skyrockets

Small businesses weighed down by frivolous PAGA lawsuits and ADA litigation

State’s unique Lemon Law provides windfall for plaintiffs’ attorneys

Activist attorney general continues to push expansive view of public nuisance law

Legislature ignores need for reform; pushes liability-expanding agenda

Hotbed for asbestos litigation
