Motion to dismiss charges against Ray Christie, suppression of evidence from 2018 raid and former prosecutor subpoenaed

There is already a hearing scheduled for December 27 on a motion to supress related to the October 2021 federal raid. Deputy District Attorney Steven Steward intends  to use evidence from that raid in the retrial for Ray Christie currently scheduled for January 2022.

Several documents were filed by Christie's attorney, Mr. Rick Richmond today. This pertains to the first raid in 2018. Mr. Steward was served at 4:57 p.m. today.

In the last post, I mentioned Judge Gregory Elvine-Kreis has been assigned to the Christie case and the many issues with this Humboldt Superior Court decision. Read the previous posts and the related link about Deputy Public Defender Adrian Kamada. Judge Elvine-Kreis should not be presiding over this trial but this is Humboldt.

Mr. Kamada was the prosecutor for Christie's first trial.  He abruptly left the D.A.'s office and this was after the first trial for Christie. Judge Christopher Wilson was the judge for Christie's first trial.

There were subpoenas served on people involved in the first raid, including HCSO Deputy Travis Mendes and Mr. Kamada.

In this post, I am just including the first page of some documents. I will have to do atleast two additional posts to provide more excerpts from other documents as well as additional information because I called Mr. Richmond about the filings. One declaration has hundreds of pages of exhibits and I am not uploading them all.

The next couple of posts will take more time so could be tonight, definitely by tomorrow. Stay tuned for the next installment of "As the world of Humboldt turns."

There are a lot of issues with this retrial, this case and a lot of information in recent posts so if you have not been following the coverage regularly; you will have to catch up and read previous posts.
