Woman with warrant for hit and run also charged with smuggling fentanyl, meth into jail and probation violation


On Dec. 19, 2021, at about 7 a.m., Humboldt County Sheriff’s deputies conducted a probation check of a residence on the 600 block of 2nd Street in Scotia.

Inside a garage at the residence, deputies contacted 29-year-old Sierra Woodard Marshall. Marshall was known to have an active warrant for her arrest. During a search of Marshall’s personal belongings incident to arrest, deputies located methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia. Marshall was taken into custody without incident.

While being booked into the Humboldt County Correctional Facility, Marshall was found to have suspected fentanyl hidden inside her clothing.

Marshall was booked on charges of possession of a controlled substance (HS 11350) and smuggling drugs into a jail (PC 4573), in addition to warrant charges of hit and run (VC 20002(a)(1)), violation of probation (PC 1203.2(a)(2)), driving under the influence of alcohol (VC 23152(a)), evading a peace officer (VC 2800.2), driving with a suspended license (VC 14601.2(a)) and seatbelt violation (VC 27315(d)(1)).
