Convicted felon and Proud Boys chair arrested in D.C. today


Enrique Tarrio is the chair of the Proud Boys. afternoon, he was arrested by police in D.C. for a warrant charging him with burning a Black Lives Matter banner taken from the Asbury United Methodist Church during a rally last month.

Days later after that incident Tarrio claimed responsibility for taking the banner. 

Tarrio is a convicted felon. At the time of his arrest,  was found to be in possession of two high capacity firearm magazines. He was additionally charged with possession of high capacity feeding device.



In 2013, Tarrio served 16 months of a 30-month sentence in federal prison for participating in a scheme to sell stolen medical equipment. His first legal name is Henry.

The Metropolitan African Methodist Episcopal Church has filed a lawsuit against the Proud Boys and  Tarrio, in D.C. Superior Court Monday saying the group trespassed on its property and destroyed its Black Lives Matter banner. 

According to Wikipedia, in 2020, he was a candidate in the Republican primary election for Florida's 27th congressional district, but withdrew. Tarrio is the Florida state director of the grassroots organization Latinos for Trump.
