"Eureka Police and Fire Dispatchers took a call from a terrified mother in early May. Her son was lost in a thick brushy swamp and did not know where he was. Dispatchers stayed on the line for over 30 minutes and pinged the son’s phone, which provided a general location for officers to search. Eureka Police Officers located the male and with the help of Humboldt Bay Fire was able to get him out safely. The mother wrote this letter of appreciation to Eureka Police and Humboldt Bay Fire."
