Dr. Frankovich has requested that the State Health Department get involved regarding Alder Bay

Dr. Teresa Frankovich has requested the State Health Department get involved. According to my source, "there should be someone here to investigate and advise as early as today."

There was more testing done yesterday at Alder Bay. Will those results be reflected in today's update or subsequent updates?

On May 13, I reported that more positive cases of COVID 19 would be reported from Alder Bay. I also reported  that a concerned citizen told me that the County would release that information later that day.

My source told me a staff member left the County came back and had contact with every resident at Alder Bay. However, investigation from Public Health revealed the person had not left the County.  My source gave me information for the May 13 post that they believed to be accurate. The May 15 COVID 19
update from the County apoligized for that error and same information.

Confidentiity is important for Public Health and it is for me, especially since we live in a small community. Whatever the reason is for that error, it has not happened until recently. Only Public Health knows why and the State Department being involved is a positive development.

The staff member did not initially have a fever. They are doing temperature checks, said my source.

Since then, there have been reports of more cases connected to Alder Bay in the daily COVID updates.

I have received no direct response from the County or Alder Bay.  This is a small community. In addition to concern about a high risk, vulnerable population, many of us know someone directly affected at Alder Bay. Why hasn't Alder Bay released any statement or organized a meeting for residents and their families?

Alder Bay and Public Health is aware they have been contacted with concerns and frustrations.

Besides running daily updates, where is the original reporting or any investigative reporting about Alder Bay in other local media?

They like to pat themselves on the back yet with a lot more resources, than I have they sit silent regarding Alder Bay. I broke many stories like the Patrick McTigue cade which no one reported for months, information on former correctional deputy Cory Fisher that the other media benefitted from. The community notices that other media follows up on a lot of what I report first.

They play it safe, constantly. They sat silent on stories like Randy Cook's case involving his grandaughter and never reported on Eureka Natural Food owner Rick Littlefield's five DUIS.

The other media has access to OES' Ryan Derby and Dr. Frankovich so why are they avoiding covering the Alder Bay debacle?
