In response to the economic impact that the COVID 19 pandemic is having on households and the homeless population, the City of Eureka has a grant program to assist homeless shelter service providers as well as individuals experiencing a reduction in income due to COVID 19.
These grants to enable the homeless service providers to continue to provide shelter during the COVID 19 crisis. There are also grants to individuals needing assistance in paying rent or mortgage payments due to a reduction in income resulting from the COVID 19 crisis.
The grants are being provided by the City of Eureka through the City of Eureka Low- and Moderate-Income Housing Asset Fund which is restricted pursuant to Health and Safety Code Section 34176 et. seq. Not everyone is eligible, there are qualifications and guidelines.
The City of Eureka is providing this assistance because keeping people in housing and sheltered assists in slowing the spread of COVID 19.
